Nine handlers graduated with a new best friend and a newfound freedom Thursday, Jan. 29. Southeastern Guide Dogs hosted its 232nd graduation at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for friends and family members to support graduates who completed almost a month of training with their new guide dogs.
One graduate, Ginny Eichholz, is ready to move on to a life with new opportunities with her guide dog, Sotheby.
“This is an emotional day for most of the students because it’s a day that we gain freedom that we never had before to travel with our dogs,” Eichholz said.
