+ Getting my life together

6:59 a.m., June 22 / 800 block of 42nd St.

Suspicious person

A woman called police to report that as she was standing outside of her house, a man pulled up in his car to ask if she was "working." She was appalled by the comment and called the police.

While she waited for officers to arrive, she saw the same man pick up a woman in a pink tank top and jeans who the officer realized matched the description of an earlier report of a woman going door to door asking for money just two blocks away.

The officer located the woman, who was standing at the bus stop but not boarding. When asked what she was doing, she told the officer she was "getting her life together." The woman is on inmate release for burglary and has several local arrests for soliciting funds, open container, trespassing and petit theft.

Officers responded to a convenience store in response to a dispute over a sub sandwich. A woman told officers she didn't like how they made her sub sandwich, so she asked for her money back and the manager refused.

The manager told officers this was not the first time the woman had done this. The manager returned the money, and the woman agreed not to shop there anymore.
