Ronald Taub, 85, of Longboat Key and Chicago, died June 26.

Born July 16, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he spent his early years in Fort Lee, N.J. and served in the Army National Guard as a medic. In Seagate, N.Y., he met Ethel Betty Flecker, who became his wife in 1952. Together, they founded Creative Displays, a point-of-sale advertising company in Chicago. They made their home in Highland Park, Ill.

Through the Taubs' lives, they supported various nonprofits in the Chicago area, as well as many communities around the country and beyond. His relationship with his wife was a great romantic and business partnership until Ethel died five years ago.

Mr. Taub is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel. He is survived by his daughters, Liba Taub, Marcia Jean Taub and Zisl Edelson; two granddaughters; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and his sister, Lynn Daniels.

His family held a private burial in Chicago.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Ron Taub Memorial Fund at Gulf Coast Community Foundation, 601 Tamiami Trail, South Venice, FL 32485, or the charity of your choice.
