Offering a change of pace from the Boho-chic look that's dominated the last few seasons, summer 2015 is all about having fun with your look.

Whether you're rocking pretty pastels, going majorly monotone or opting for a completely new ’do, this season is all about hue.

This time last year, the sophisticated colored ombre and dip-dye trend was everywhere. Now, it's evolved into something a bit more majestic and whimsical —the sand-art technique, which embraces any and every color of the rainbow.

Unlike its colorful counterpart (dip-dye or colored ombre), this effect involves color over the whole head. And instead of horizontal lines, it's hand-painted diagonally in triangle-shaped sections to avoid any clear beginning or end color lines.

As much as it pains me to admit, the days of the grown-out, two-tone ombre are quickly coming to a close. Lately, the red carpet has been littered with the exact opposite: rich, deep monochromatic colors.

Take a cue from the beautiful Emma Stone, who never fails to deliver redheaded realness, or even Maggie Grace, who's constantly wowing me with her warm strawberry blonde locks. On the other end of the spectrum, Anne Hathaway and Felicity Jones have gone to the dark side with classic monotone shades of brown. Remember: the key to achieving your sophisticated, sexy look is to choose the right shade for your skin tone.

If you're considering a drastic change, I'm all for it. You'd be in good company: Khloe Kardashian recently took the plunge, going from buxom brunette to full bombshell with a sultry caramel blonde. Even Jared Leto, whose ombre "Jesus locks," are almost as famous as he is, embraced a nearly white-platinum look (eyebrows included) for his role as the Joker in an upcoming Batman movie.

The trick to going blonde is doing it in baby steps. Consult with your stylist beforehand to make sure your hair is in good enough shape as a lightening process like this can take a real toll on your hair's integrity.

So whatever crazy hair tactics you decide on this summer, remember that it’s all about having fun and creating a look that’s all hue!
