Lakewood Ranch Walkathon Kick-Off Party — runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, 7051 Wireless Court, Sarasota. Southeastern Guide Dogs will hold this event to kick off fundraising for its newly announced walkathon at Greenbrook Adventure Park, in Lakewood Ranch, on April 9, 2016. Light appetizers and drinks will be provided. RSVP to guidedogs.or/LWRevent.

 

Friday, July 31

Allcare Medical Plaza Open House — starts at 4 p.m. at Allcare Medical, 5860 Ranch Lake Blvd., Bradenton. Allcare Medical welcomes the public to see its new facility and meet healthcare providers and staff. The practice recently added Dr. Irv Becker and clinical psychologist r. Cassie Leutzinger to its team.Food and drink will be provided. For information, call 388-8997.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 5

Classic Car Show — starts at 5 p.m. on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Come out to view classic cars or enter your vehicle in the competition for $10. There are no restrictions on the car’s year, make or model. Guests also will enjoy food, music and prizes. For information, visit lakewoodranch.com.

 

Friday, Aug. 7

Music on Main — runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Smokey’s Session Band will fill the air with show band, R&B, classics, oldies and dance music. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Siesta Key Kiwanis Club. Guests are welcome to bring chairs, but no coolers. Dogs are welcome but must be on a short leash. Saturday, Aug. 8

Back to School Event for Families with Diabetes — runs from 10 a.m. to noon at The Zone Complex, 5028 Lena Road, Bradenton. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) invites families with children with type 1 diabetes to this fun, free and educational event.  2 guest speakers will help parents with tips on successfully starting off the school year.   Reservations requested to Tammy at 941-776-4394 or [email protected]

Double Divas Bra Fit Event — runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Lifetime’s reality TV stars Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker, co-owners of LiviRae Lingerie, will join Peggy Jain and Becky Jones at Discover Chiropractic & Wellness for a bra fit event. Clients can reserve a fitting with the Double Divas at a time of their choosing by pre-purchasing a $50 ticket. The ticket will reserve an appointment and go toward the purchase of new LiviRaebras. Tuesday, Aug. 11

Encore Initiative for Baby Boomers Information Session — runs from 6 to 7 p.m. at State College of Florida Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway E., Lakewod Ranch, in the Center for Innovation and Technology, Room 116. SCF Manatee-Sarasota will offer this information session about a program to help baby boomers earn a college degree, re-enter the workforce in another field or start a new business. The Manatee-Sarasota Encore initiative is part of the American Association of Community Colleges Plus 50 Encore Completion Program, a national effort to train 10,000 baby boomers for new jobs in health care and education.

Lakewood Ranch Financial Forum — meets at 9 a.m. the first and third Thursday of the mouth at Country Pancake House Restaurant, 8205 Natures Way, Unit 119, Lakewood Ranch.
