Ever thought to yourself, while sipping a cold beer from JDub's Brewing Co., "This stuff is so good, I could bathe in it!"

Yeah, neither have we. That would be weird. But now, thanks to a unique collaboration, this completely absurd fantasy we've totally never had is becoming a reality.

Wild Ginger Apothecary, a Gulf Gate-based alternative and holistic health-and-beauty product supplier, has teamed up with the brewery for its first release as part of its collaborative Local Love soap series.

Handcrafted by Lolablue in North Port, the ginger-and-mint infused soap is made with JDub's Poolside Kolsch instead of water. According to Wild Ginger Apothecary owner Nicole Leffler, each soap in the series will feature a different hand-crafted product and offer specific health benefits.

She says beer has amino acids that will make the Poolside Soap hydrating and refreshing. Other businesses participating in the series include Kombucha 221bc, which will offer exfoliating properties and Perq Coffee Bar, whose soap will energize and stimulate skin.

"Collaboration is something that's been on my mind since the start," says Leffler, who opened the store last October. "That's what it's all about. This is something fun and quirky, and it fits in with our clientele. A lot of our customers are into craft beer and artisanal products, so this will be good cross promotion."

Join Wild Ginger, JDub's and Lolablue for a release party at 7 p.m. this Saturday at JDub's Brewing Co., 1215 Mango Ave. Attendees will receive free soap samples, be entered to win raffle prizes, try a special ginger and mint-treated Poolside and have the opportunity to grab lunch from the Morgan's Canteen and Cookery food truck.

"It should be a lot of fun," says Leffer. "It's like a backyard party at JDub's, where people can mingle and enjoy a collaboration by some local businesses."
