STRING THEORY
5:33 a.m. — 2400 block of Waldemere Street
Trespassing: A man left his car unlocked after loading bags into the vehicle and walking inside his home. When he returned to the vehicle, he found a shirtless man inside his vehicle playing with a piece of string that had been in the center console. The man said he did not want to press charges, but wanted officers to check on the unknown man’s well-being. 

EYE SEE YOU
11:55 a.m. — Intersection of Flamingo Avenue and Siesta Drive. 
Suspicion General/Unknown: A man reported that a vehicle ran over a jug of landscaping liquid that splashed into his eyes, and the driver failed to stop and assist him. Officers contacted the owner of the truck in question, but the man denied involvement with the incident. 

June 2

SPECTRAL DELIVERY
9 a.m. — 900 block of Indian Beach Road.
Suspicion General/Unknown: A woman noticed footprints in her carport and near her door when she returned home after running errands, but there were no signs of entry. Officers noted it appeared someone had tried to deliver a package to the woman’s residence, and no further action was taken.

TAKING NOTICE
1:55 p.m. — 3700 block of S. Osprey Avenue
Landlord Tenant Dispute: A woman reported that her landlord had shut off her electricity and sent a painter to her home without notifying her of being evicted. Officers could not find any eviction papers, and told both women to settle the matter in civil court.

June 5

TEEN SPIRIT
1:16 p.m. — Intersection of Bird Key Drive and John Ringling Causeway
Juvenile Problem: A security guard noticed three youths crossing the road during heavy traffic several times as they were gathering money for a fundraiser. An officer contacted the woman supervising the event, who scolded the juveniles before leaving the area.
