For this week's day trip, I decided to head down south to Stump Pass Beach State Park in Englewood.

It's a wonderful place to visit the beach or take a little hike through the wooded area to the southern tip — the scenery here is unreal. The park is home to tons of wildlife including tortoise, egrets and manatees.

It's perfect for a day with the family or a morning walk, and there are plenty of other activities to be found: diving, snorkeling, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking and skim boarding are all great options at Stump Pass.

The park closes at 5 p.m., so I recommend arriving earlier in the day. Visit the Stump Pass website for more information.
