Martin Fiderer, of Longboat Key and formerly of Scarsdale, N.Y., and Rye Brook, N.Y., died June 18.

Born in 1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Fiderer joined the Navy at age 18 and was later educated at the University of Missouri and the University of Michigan. He began a long career in health care communications with Pfizer Inc. and then joined Sudler & Hennessey in New York. He later founded his own pharmaceutical advertising agency, Martin Fiderer Associates.

After retiring in 1992, he volunteered as a guide at the Norwalk Aquarium in Connecticut and at the Mote Marine Aquarium. He was a ranked bridge player, an avid tennis player and an occasional playwright.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 65 years, Adele, and his daughter, Beth. He is survived by his son, David; daughter-in-law, Laura; thee grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Monday, in Scarsdale, N.Y.
