Spring is in the air, and this is usually the time we slowly begin to pack away our heavy parkas and Uggs in favor of strappy sandals and mini dresses.

But designers are taking a different route this year with these discotheque Juliet and GI Jane-inspired ensembles.

Emilio Pucci, Saint Laurent and Prada have taken their models waaay back with deep caramels, burgundy, orange and jewel-toned elements, dressing up one of my favorite looks in some funky flare with dreamy, patchwork mini dresses and groovy platform heels.

One of my favorite looks this spring was constructed by Emilio Pucci. This sexy and sophisticated ensemble pulls obvious elements from the ’70s, including a fitted blazer and camel colored bell-bottom slacks. Louis Vuitton stunned with this super mod mini and pale blue velvet booties. Its simple lines and geometric shape are a definite nod to the one and only Twiggy.

Marc Jacobs absolutely killed the catwalk for spring. Always pushing the idea of what a fashion show is, he lined the runway with plush pink shag carpet and as models walked the runway, guests listened to the sound of girls walking on gravel from the Beats by Dre headphones that were plugged into each seat.

The pink carpet was a complete contrast to the military chic, while playing with colors ranging from dove gray and nude to camel, rich blue and, of course, Army green. One of my top picks from his show was a sexy cinched satin mini in a rich blue hue that paired perfectly with flat sandals. The show was full of fun geometric shapes, cropped tops with long silk skirts and pajama pants.

Jacobs certainly presented us with an iconic runway experience we won't soon forget and I, for one, am heading home to pack away my downed jackets and boots and willing the warmth into existence with what is now my dream wardrobe.
