MONDAY, MAY 11

Pies and Pints — takes place from 8 to 10 p.m. at Shamrock Pub, 2257 Ringling Blvd.. $20.

Enjoy this new pizza and beer series from Polpo Pizza Co. and Shamrock Pub, in which local chefs collaborate with Polpo to create signature pizzas, which will be paired with bottomless pints of craft beer.

Chef Mark Woodruff of MADE Restaurant is tonight’s guest chef. Admission includes three different pizza servings and bottomless pints until 10 p.m.


TUESDAY, MAY 12

+ Cigar City Beer Dinner — takes place at 6:30 p.m. at Mandeville Beer Garden, 428 N. Lemon Ave. $45. 

Kick off American Craft Beer Week at Mandeville Beer Garden as Chef Christian Hershman and Cigar City's Lucas Widrick serve up a six-beer, five-course meal.

Each course is created to complement Cigar City Brewing's Hornswoggled, White Oak Jai Alai IPA, Tropical Heatwave Wheat Ale, Invasion Pale Ale and Cubano-style Espresso Brown Ale. Limited seating.


WEDNESDAY, MAY 13

Craft Beer and Yoga — takes place at 6:30 p.m. at JDub’s Brewing Co. 1215 Mango Ave. Free.

This weekly free event features instructional yoga by Yoga Meg on the deck of the newly renovated JDub’s beer garden.

Get your stretch on and enjoy 10% off your tab after the session. Don’t forget to grab a punch card to earn rewards. Tips encouraged.


THURSDAY, MAY 14

Natural Child, Faux Ferocious and Hail Dale — takes place at 9 p.m. at Growler's Pub, 2831 N. Tamiami Trail. $8 or $10 at the door. 

Garage rock-lovers rejoice — Nashville, Tenn.-based Southern garage-rock band, Natural Child, will play a show in Sarasota as part of its spring tour with fellow Nashville band Faux Ferocious.

Natural Child, known for its classic rock, vintage country and garage rock influences, will take the stage with local Southern rockers, Hail Dale.


FRIDAY, MAY 15

'The Wizard of Oz' Sing-Along — takes place at 8 p.m. at The Francis, 1289 N. Palm Ave. $75.

The Community AIDS Network presents this screening and sing-along of the classic movie, "The Wizard of Oz."

Dress up for the costume contest, enjoy some cocktails and help support the effort to educate Sarasota youth about HIV/AIDS.


SATURDAY, MAY 16

Harvey Milk Festival Music takes place at 2:30 p.m. at Five Points Park. Free.

The sixth annual Harvey Milk Festival returns with three days of free music, visual arts and film, all celebrating the legacy of one of America’s first openly gay politicians, Harvey Milk.

The free festival kicks off Thursday, with a Burns Court Cinema screening of the film, “Tiger Orange,” a story of two feuding gay brothers reunited by their father’s death. The HuB will play host to the festival’s second day and visual-arts portion Friday, and the festival will culminate Saturday with a free all-day concert featuring local, regional, national and international acts.


SUNDAY, MAY 17

Sunday Night Comedy — takes place at 8 p.m. at Mr. Beery's, 2645 Mall Drive. $5.

Starting this Sunday, Mr. Beery's presents its new Sunday night comedy series, featuring national touring comedians.

The first week features comic Carmen Ciricillo and Doug Canney.
