Kathleen “Kay” Mulhare, 87, of Longboat Key and River Edge, N.J., died April 30.

Born May 5, 1927, in Honesdale, Pa., she graduated from Stamford High School in 1944 and from Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. 

Affectionately known as “Mama Kay” to her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, she devoted her life to family. She was also an avid golfer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edward Mulhare; son, Ross Mulhare; brother, Gerald Kinross; and sister, Joyce Hyland. 

She is survived by her sons, Keith Mulhare, of New York, N.Y., and Drew Mulhare, of Williamsburg, Va.; daughter, Lisa Sanderson, of Landenberg, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A service was held May 8, in River Edge.
