MONDAY, MAY 18

Drag Queen Bingo — takes place at 7 p.m. at White Buffalo Saloon, 5377 McIntosh Road. $55 at the door.

Fairy Tail Endings, Inc. and Satchel's Last Resort Shelter and Sanctuary co-host this night of Drag Queen Bingo to support both organizations' veterinary care funds.

The event, which features Beneva Fruitville and Lindsay Carlton, includes four games, two drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres.


TUESDAY, MAY 19

+ Taste of UTC — takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mall at University Town Center, 140 University Town Center Drive. $50.

Presented by Holcomb - Kreithen Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, this event offers guests a taste of the finer things at the new Mall at UTC, including appetizers at Brio Tuscan Grille, entrée tastings and Stoli Dolis at The Capital Grille and dessert at Seasons 52.

At each stop, strolling models will showcase fashions from Jackie Z Style Co. and Mayors Jewelers, and guests will have a chance to win some of the evening’s $7,500 worth of giveaways.


WEDNESDAY, MAY 20

Shane Mauss — takes place at 7 p.m. at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre, 1923 Ringling Blvd. $15 to $18.

Mauss has appeared on international television shows, including "Conan," "Just For Laughs," “Funny As Hell” on HBO Canada, ‘The World Stands Up," and is a regular on "The Bob and Tom Show," and other radio outlets.

Now, catch him in Sarasota Wednesday through Sunday, at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre.


THURSDAY, MAY 21

MASHterpieces Opening Reception — takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Art Center Sarasota, 707 N. Tamiami Trail. 

In the style of the iconic Wayne White, local artists repurpose local thrift store art to bring new life to life to otherwise forgotten works.

Attend the opening reception to see the completed works. Runs through June 26.


FRIDAY, MAY 22

+ Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe's Barbecue and Blues — takes place at 6 p.m. at Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, 1646 10th Way. $29.50 - $48.

Sammy Blue, who stars as “Guitar Man” in the theater's current production of “Spunk,” will perform two concerts Friday and Saturday, during which patrons can enjoy a barbecue dinner from Nancy’s Barbecue.

Dubbed the Crown Prince of the Blues by the late Muddy Waters, Blue has performed all over the world, opening for acts such as Taj Mahal, Muddy Waters, Jerry Garcia, Memphis Slim and the The Wailers.


SATURDAY, MAY 23

+ Pickin' Picnic — takes place from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Bradenton Riverwalk, 452 3rd Ave. W., Bradenton. Free.

Realize Bradenton presents the fourth annual Pickin' Picnic, which will showcase the region’s roots music scene. The festivities begin at 2 p.m., with live music starting at 3 p.m.

Lineup includes Chasing Jonah, Hymn For Her, The Dram, Lions After Dark and Have Gun Will Travel.


SUNDAY, MAY 24

A Night in Cuba — takes place at 8 p.m. at the Gator Club, 1490 Main St. $10.

LDG Productions and The Gator Club present A Night in Cuba, featuring live music by Renesito Avich, tres guitarist from Cuba, with percussion accompaniment.

Event will feature live cigar rolling by Odelma Matos, owner of La Faraona Cigars as well as ceviche and Caribbean street food provided by Chef Darwin Santa Maria.
