Local and state governing bodies have been making the headlines over the last year, and not for positive reason, Manatee County School Board members agreed.
State Rep. Greg Steube plans to utilize the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance's May Luncheon as a forum for discussing the issues that plagued the Senate and Supreme Court in recent months, or the "homegrown soap opera," he added.
School Board Chairman Bob Gause will also offer his suggestions for ways to unify the school district, which has been under fire since the sudden retirement of former Superintendent Rick Mills, along with budget crisis and other mishaps.
Both officials will address the luncheon attendees from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20, at the Polo Grill and Bar's Fete Ballroom, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch.
Cost is $35.
