Coville celebrates pitch-perfect 90th

Bird Key resident Warren Coville celebrated his 90th birthday Saturday, at Michael’s Wine Cellar.

Coville’s wife of 67 years, Margot, kicked off the party with a champagne toast. Their three daughters, Betsy, Claudie and Lynn, were present along with several of the couple’s grandchildren, nephews and nieces. 

Brian and Nicole Owen created and performed an original musical theater piece, with accompaniment by Melodie Dickerson. Brian Owen is a recent graduate of the FSU Asolo Conservatory and was sponsored by Coville, who formed the sponsor-a-student program while serving as president of the Asolo Rep Theatre board.

On May 7, Coville received Visit Sarasota County’s 2015 National Tourism Week Voice of Sarasota award because of his philanthropy work and efforts to raise awareness of the county.
