After meeting in college, Thomas McKean Thomas Jr. proposed to Lauren Elizabeth Pritchard Dec. 17, 2013. The couple had plans to go out to dinner that evening together. From the beginning, Lauren could tell something was off. Tom was late picking her up and was really nervous — so nervous that he actually asked if they could change their order and get the food to go. When they arrived home, Tom proposed by the Christmas tree.
The couple was married Dec. 27, at The Founders Club. A Sarasota native, Lauren’s family owns Pritchard Pianos, so a grand piano was brought in for the couple’s walk down the aisle.
The event’s colors featured jewel tones: sapphire, emerald, purple, gold and silver. Instead of the typical flowers, the couple used succulents and white roses. For the tables, they used driftwood with the succulents and roses to blend with the low-country feel of the Founders Club. Instead of Champagne, the couple offered Fireball shots, which helped get the party started.
Following the ceremony, the couple spent New Year’s Eve in Miami before a Caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Equinox.
