Kent Lamar Reedy, 65, of Osprey and formerly of Longboat Key, died Nov. 1.

He was born May 7, 1948, in Middletown, Ohio, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1966. He began his career working at Guyler Buick in Middletown. He moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1970 and went to work at Village Meats, where he eventually retired as manager of office operations.

In 1985, he and his partner, Chuck Falter, moved to Longboat Key. They were married in a civil ceremony at the Sarasota County Courthouse with a few friends attending in March 2015.

Mr. Reedy loved Motown music, cars, eating, shopping and animals. People loved his sense of humor, and his contagious laugh brought smiles to everyone.

Mr. Reedy is survived by his spouse, Chuck Falter; his 102-year-old father, Luther Reedy, of Sarasota; his brother, Daniel Reedy, of Eustis; his poodle, Lily; and his Portuguese Water Dog, Ivy.

A visitation was held Nov. 8, in Columbus, followed by a celebration of his life Nov. 9.
