Thursday, Nov. 12
Island Time on St. Armands

Takes place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at Daiquiri Deck, 325 John Ringling Blvd. Help Sarasota in Defense of Animals in its mission of caring for rescued, abused and abandoned animals. There will be a dinner, open bar, tropical music, live auction and 50/50 raffle. Cost is $100. Call 924-2505.

Friday, Nov. 13
Tea and Lecture
Starts at 1 p.m. at Burke Antiques, 12 Palm Ave. Sarasota Garden Club and Burke Antiques host a lecture about floral patterns in rugs and floral design. Hats are optional. Admission is free. Call 955-0875. 

Saturday, Nov. 14
Bee Ridge Presbyterian Bazaar
Runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church, 4826 McIntosh Road.  Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church hosts its annual Bazaar. Shop the flea market, crafts, collectibles, books, food and more. Admission is free. Call 921-5355. 

One-Day Flea Market
Runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road. Shop for items from around the world including jewelry, linens, kitchenware, glassware, furniture and books. Admission is free. Call 371-4974.

Crocker Appraisal Clinic
Runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crocker Memorial Church, 1260 12th St. The Historical Society of Sarasota County is inviting people to bring their treasures and have them appraised by certified professionals. Cost is $10 per item; three for $25. Proceeds benefit historic preservation at the Bidwell-Wood House and the Crocker Memorial Church, both at Pioneer Park. Visit hsosc.com.

Thunder Fun Day
Runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Out-of-Door Academy Historic Siesta Key Campus, 444 Reid St. The annual school fair celebrates the school community with games, a rock-climbing wall, laser tag, crafts and a bake sale. Wednesday, Nov. 18 
Geographic Information System Day 
Runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at Gulf Gate Public Library, 7112 Curtiss Ave. The free event, held in conjunction with Geography Awareness Week and events in more than 80 countries around the world, provides a forum for users of geographic information system technology. Admission is free. Call 861-5000.


Monday, Nov. 16 
CONA 54th anniversary Party 
Starts at 7 p.m. at Michael’s On East Wine Cellar, 1212 East Ave. The Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations will celebrate its founding in 1961. The party raises money CONA and local scholarships. Tickets are $50. Email [email protected]

Miracle at Suncoast Motorsports
Runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Suncoast Porsche Audi, 5005 Tamiami Trail. The Education Foundation of Sarasota County is partnering with the Florida Occupational Therapy Association (FOTA) to provide a valuable and much needed sensory aid for special needs children in Sarasota County Schools. Oldtime Bark 'N’Roll Party 
Runs from 8 to 11 p.m. at Libby’s Cafe & Bar, 1917 Osprey Ave. SRQ Preservation of Animals and Wildlife Society or P.A.W.S is holding a fundraiser to support Satchel’s Last Resort Animal Shelter and Sanctuary. Sunday, Nov. 15
Palates & Palettes
Starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Keith Farmhouse Lawn at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 Tamiami Trail. Chef Paul Mattison and Phillippi Estate Park will host a four-course, farm-to-fork Dinner.
