McDonald’s
Sept. 27
5200 block of 33rd Street East
Grand Theft Auto: A woman was giving her friend a ride to the Salvation Army. On the way, she stopped to use the restroom at McDonald’s and left her friend in the car with it running and the keys in the ignition. When she came back from the bathroom, her car was gone. Her friend did not have a working phone, so she could not contact him. She got “some type of email” from her friend saying he was on his way back to return the car, but she called the Sheriff’s Office to report it stolen.

29000 block of Betts Road
Information Only: A resident spotted a truck on Betts Road stopping in the middle of the road and loading up electrical cable spools into the bed of the vehicle. The resident remembered that Florida Power & Light had been working on power poles near his home and had left some equipment out on the ground. The man pursued the truck while calling the Sheriff’s Office. An FPL representative was contacted, but the person was unable to determine if the spools have been stolen or if they were authorized for removal.

Theft to a Conveyance: A woman was in a relationship with someone until about 5 p.m. Sept. 24. When she broke up with her partner, the partner began throwing the woman's and her daughter’s belongings out of the home. She tried to leave, but could not find her purse or keys. The partner’s father took the woman to her mother’s house to get spare keys, and when she returned to the car, she noticed some of her belongings were missing.

Petit Theft: A woman called the Sheriff’s Office to report that someone stole three of her homemade Halloween decorations from her yard.
