Global Cardboard Challenge
Runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Out-of-Door Academy Lower Campus, 444 Reid St. The Out-of-Door Academy hosts the Global Cardboard Challenge for elementary-aged children to build arcade games using cardboard and other recycled materials. Genealogical Society of Sarasota
Starts at 10 a.m. at Selby Public Library, 1331 First St. Join the Genealogical Society of Sarasota for a program and meeting with the topic of “Genealogical Musical Chairs: Explore the Possibilities.” The event will feature how to research Quaker records, the War of 1812, German ancestry, New England and Virginia records, Afro- American research and those stubborn brick walls. National White Cane Day
Starts at 11:30 a.m. at First Watch, 1395 Main St. The Sarasota Council of the Blind is hosting an event to celebrate National White Cane Day. The day will start with a presentation featuring Mayor Willie Shaw and then guests are invited to enjoy lunch at First Watch. Monthly Contra Dances
