Frances Rochelle Mann, 70, of Longboat Key, died Oct. 5.

Born April 1, 1945, Ms. Mann grew up in the New York metropolitan area. After she married, she and her husband, Mel Weisel, moved to Connecticut.

Mrs. Mann learned programming in one of the earliest computer training classes at AT&T, eventually becoming a vice president at AGS Computers. She then started her own successful computer consulting company, Target Resources Inc., with more than 50 people on staff.

Mrs. Mann is remembered as an exceptional woman and wife who excelled at whatever she attempted, doing everything with total commitment and passion. She loved Longboat Key and always said it would be her final resting place.

Mrs. Mann discovered bridge later in life and quickly became a silver life master. She even co-authored a book with John Veltri, titled “Bridge With God.”

Mrs. Mann is survived by her husband, who said of their relationship, “For both of us, life began when we met.”

A memorial will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 30, at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave. in Sarasota.
