Louis Bevilacqua, 76, of Longboat Key, died Oct. 6.

Born in Newark, N.J., Mr. Bevilacqua received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University. He did graduate work at Columbia University and received a master’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University. He spent his career at General Electric Aviation, first in turbine design engineering and then in senior management of the global jet engine business.

Mr. Bevilacqua retired in 1999 to Longboat Key to pursue hobbies, including the study of public policy and physics, fishing and exotic cars. He enjoyed collecting cars, concourse judging, rallies, tours and track days. He had a full, happy and satisfying life.

Mr. Bevilacqua is survived by his wife, Roberta; children, Charles and Robin; three granddaughters; sister, Josephine; and brother, Anthony.

Services were held Oct. 12. Interment was at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park in Sarasota.
