Berkshire Hathaway opens Palmer Ranch location

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty celebrated its expanded presence in Sarasota County with a new location at 7231 S. Tamiami Trail in Palmer Ranch.

On Sept. 24, the company celebrated there was a grand opening and ribbon cutting. Elaine Glandon, regional vice president, and Mike Holland, Palmer Ranch / Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch managing broker, hosted the event, which drew more than 100 people.

“This is an exciting time for our company. Our commitment to provide outstanding service and support to our sales professionals, our community and our customers is our top priority and this new location is an extension of that commitment,” said Rei Mesa, president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty in a news release. 

Sarasota dermatologist to lead SMH department

Dr. J. Morgan O’Donoghue of O’Donoghue Dermatology has been elected president of the largest state organization of dermatologic surgeons in the nation.
 
O'Donoghue was installed as president of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons (FSDS) during the group's 34th annual meeting Oct. 3, at the Boca Raton Resort and Club.
 
The news of the FSDS presidency follows the announcement that O’Donoghue will head the dermatology department of the new Sarasota Memorial Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program. This is the first program for newly graduated doctors in Sarasota and is the final step in SMH's transformation into a nationally recognized teaching hospital.
 
“I am honored to have been selected by my peers to preside over an organization that raises the bar for dermatologic surgeons, and I am really looking forward to helping shape the next generation of doctors as Chief of the Dermatology Department of the new SMH residency program,” O’Donoghue said in a news release.
 

Expert Global Solutions hires in Sarasota

Expert Global Solutions (EGS) announced that it plans to hire more than 350 people for positions at its Sarasota location through December. These new customer support positions will provide customer service on behalf of multiple clients via phone and email.

The $1.1 billion Plano, Texas-based call center company has more than 70 locations and 40,000 employees worldwide.
