THURSDAY, OCT. 22

+ Combo Vimana — takes place from 7 to 10 p.m., at Libby’s L-Bar, 1917 S. Osprey Ave. Free. Call 487-7300.

LDG Productions presents Combo Vimana, a blend of Latin jazz, rumba, flamenco and bossa nova music. 

Enjoy the unique sounds of this band in Libby's elegant L-Bar while sipping craft cocktails.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 23

"Freak" — takes place at 8 p.m., at Urbanite Theatre, 1487 Second St. $5 to $24. Call 321-1397 

Urbanite Theatre returns for its second season with the playwright who started it all: Anna Jordan, who opened the first season with “Chicken Shop.” 

“Freak” is an intimate drama, focusesd on the disparate lives of two women, who explore the nature of their ever-evolving sexual identity and what it means to be a woman in today’s world. Runs through Nov. 15

 

SATURDAY, OCT. 24

+ Oktoberliner Fest — takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at JDub's Brewing Co., 1215 Mango Ave. Free. 

Celebrate Oktoberfest with JDub’s Brewing Co. The two-day event will feature more than 20 Berliner Weisse-style beers with an unlimited-pour two-day wristband available for $75.

And it’s not Oktoberfest without sausage. Mouthole BBQ will be on-site to dish out assorted smoked sausages, brats, sauerkraut and other fitting items.

 

SUNDAY, OCT. 25

5k Color Blast — takes place at 10 a.m. at Nathan Benderson Park, 751 Cattlemen Road. $50. Call 358-7275

Show your true colors as you run, walk or skip through this 5k fun run, which features five different color zones and a medal for all participants. 

Wear white and get ready to be turned into a human canvas via blasts of neon color powder.
