The Bring Your Own Pumpkin party hosted by the Zackary, 6, and Jett, 4, Manooshian drew more than 150 adults and children. Sunday. In the driveway of their Cherokee Park home, children and parents gutted pumpkins to be carved. The most popular designs were Mickey Mouse, Minions, Spiderman, Batman and the traditional Jack-o'-Lantern faces.
“This is one family event where the parents can sit down on the ground or picnic tables with their children and create memories together,” said Kimberly Manooshian, Zackary and Jett’s mother. “No TV, no phone calls, no electronic games...Just good old-fashioned quality time with family and friends.”
A date to the fair
In 1943 at a Michigan County Fair, amid cotton candy and games of chance, Lloyd Skutt met the most important person in his life, his wife, Lorraine. They married Oct. 28 1945 and began a 70-year journey together that blessed them with two devoted daughters and sons-in-law, one grandson and one great grandson. They celebrated the milestone with family at Pier 22 in Bradenton.
