Doga-Ween
Runs from 9 a.m. to noon, at Five Points Park. Wet Noses and the Sarasota Downtown Merchants Association present the Doggie and Kitty Halloween Festival and Costume Contest for pets. There will be prizes, refreshments, raffles, music, games, exhibits, treats and a pet parade at 10:15 a.m. Registration is $5 per pet. Call 388-3647.

Spooktacular
Runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 900 Palm Ave. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens will host its inaugural Halloween celebration with family-friendly trick-or-treating and pumpkin decorating, fun and educational activities, such as seed planting. Fall Family Festival
Runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bay Preserve, 400 Palmetto Ave. Families are invited to enjoy a day on the shores of Little Sarasota Bay. The day will include old-fashioned games, arts and crafts, a fire truck, face painting, water conservation activities, live music and dip net fishing. Admission is free. Giving Hunger the Blues
Runs from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. at Southside Village on Hillview Street. Take part in the music and street festival that will include two stages with live music, dance performances, martial arts demos, local vendors and more. Sunday, Nov. 8
Bowls of Hope
Runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 S. Tamiami Trail. Spend a day in the park, and enjoy soup prepared and served by area restaurants for the All Faiths Food Bank event. The day will include live entertainment, desserts and more. Attendees will also select a bowl – handcrafted by local artists – to take home as a reminder of the empty bowls they helped fill. Victorian Funeral
Starts at 7 p.m. at Historic Spanish Point. 337 N. Tamiami Trail. Join fellow mourners and spectators as the grieving widow bids farewell to her beloved husband during a Victorian funeral at Mary's Chapel. Latin Dance Night 
Runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road. The Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood and Sisterhood host their first ever Latin Dance night. The evening includes performances and instruction from the Dynasty Dance Club of Sarasota. Food will be provided by the Peruvian Grill of Sarasota.  Tickets are $18 in advance; $25 at the door.
