ODA swimmers win Tri-Meet

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls swim teams both beat Keswick Christian and St. Pete Canterbury School Sept. 3.

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls swim teams both beat Keswick Christian and St. Pete Canterbury School Sept. 3. 

Kate Patrice, Imola Csendes and Reece Whatmore all won a pair of individual events. Patrice won the 50-and 100-yard freestyles. Csendes won the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. Whatmore captured the 200 and 500 freestyles. 

Chlor Militzer and Caroline Diesel also won individual events. Csendes, Patrice, Militzer and Whatmore also won the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay. The Lady Thunder won 10 of 12 events. 

Sarsen Whatmore and Zach Szmania led the way for ODA’s boys team. Sarsen Whatmore won the 200 and 500 freestyles. Szmania set a new school record in the 200 IM with his first-place finish. He also won the 100 breaststroke. Laz Tengerdy and Charles Hayes also won individual events. 

Hayes, Szmania, Whatmore and Tengerdy set a new school record in the 200 medley relay and also won the 400 freestyle relay. 

ODA returns to the pool Sept. 10 against Port Charlotte.
