Set sail for the Labor Day Regatta

Participating sailors waited along the shore of City Island Park in anticipation for the 69th annual Labor Day Regatta.

Then they waited a little longer due to a lack of breeze that delayed the start of the regatta for a couple of hours. By 2 p.m. the wind filled sails and more than 200 boats were launched into Sarasota Bay prepared to take on one of the five courses for the event.

Day 1 of events concluded with a barbecue for participants and their families.
