Bulldogs post pair of wins

The East Manatee Bulldogs Junior PeeWee and PeeWee football teams both posted victories over the Valrico Rams in divisional action Sept. 19 and Sept. 20. 

The Bulldogs PeeWee squad defeated the Rams 34-6. Running back Josh Thomas scored a touchdown on the opening play of the game to give East Manatee the early lead. Quarterback Bryce Johnson threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Heald and Zadarius Rainey and Christopher Thomas each added rushing touchdowns in the first half. Josh Thomas scored his second rushing touchdown of the game in the second half. 

Defensively, East Manatee was led by Gavin Klein, Tighe Basso, Carson Goda, Brody Theriot and Josiah Lozada. 

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 2-1. 

In other action, the Bulldogs Junior Pee team won 28-7. East Manatee’s Mighty Mite squad fell 13-12 while the Junior Midget squad fell 31-0. 

East Manatee will return to action Sept. 26 against the Hardee Wildcats.
