Checkered flooring isn't just for vintage-inspired diners or your grandmother's kitchen anymore.
The black and white diamond shapes are making their debut in bathrooms in Neal Signature Homes models and homes throughout East County.
The Highfield model in The Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club, Dominica II in The Concession and models in The Inlets and other nearby communities offer the checkered pattern as bathroom floor options.
"Just because you had black and white floors like your grandma had doesn't mean that your bathroom can't be modern at the same time," said Charlene Neal, designer of Neal Signature Homes' models. "Black and white checkered floors have been making a coming back; that style is in style again."
For more than a year, Neal Signature Homes has revamped the classic design by offering different sized tiles, finishes and colors.
Take a look at how this trend can add interest to any floor.
