Museum Day Live
Takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Historic Spanish Point, 337 Tamiami Trail. Historic Spanish Point will open its doors free of charge as part of Smithsonian Magazine’s event for participating museums. Touch Drawing
Runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Expressive Arts Florida Institute, 200 S. Washington Blvd. Explore touch drawing, a process in which the fingers and hands replace pens or brushes. Paddle Little Sarasota Bay
Starts at 9:30 a.m. This outing travels the coastline of Little Sarasota Bay into North Creek. Participants will paddle past Historic Spanish Point and along the bay before taking a mangrove tunnel into North Creek. Trip duration is about 3 hours and is suitable for those with basic kayaking skills. Bring kayak gear and accessories plus water and snacks. Foster Care and Adoption Community Group
Runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Sarasota Christian Church, 2923 Ashton Road. All foster and adoptive parents are welcome to join a new support group designed to facilitate community, training and practical skills for parenting.
