ODA swims past Northside Christian

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls swim teams both posted victories against Northside Christian in district action Sept. 24.

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls swim teams both posted victories against Northside Christian in district action Sept. 24. 

The ODA boys won every event en route to a 122-47 victory while the ODA girls slipped past Northside Christian 90-74. 

Sarsen Whatmore set a pair of school records in the 500-yard freestyle and the 100 backstroke to power the ODA boys team. Zach Szmania won the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke. Laszlo Tengerdy won both the 100 and 200 freestyles. Nam Hoang was victorious in the 50 freestyle. Charles Hayes won the 200 individual medley. Whatmore, Szmania, Hayes and Peter Cornetet teamed up to win the 200 medley relay. Hoang, Tengerdy, Cornetet and Thomas Naylor won the 200 freestyle relay while Tengerdy, Whatmore, Szmania and Hayes finished first in the 400 freestyle relay. 

On the girls side, Kate Patrice continued her dominance in the pool, winning the 200 and 500 freestyles. She then teamed up with Reece Whatmore, Imola Csendes and Quinn Birmingham to win the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Csendes also won the 50 and 100 freestyles. Reece Whatmore finished first in the 100 butterfly and Chloe Csendes won the 100 backstroke.
