SEPT. 11

ROOMMATE DISPUTE

10:20 a.m. — 500 block of Ranger Lane

Vandalism: A man told police he discovered that his roommate intentionally keyed the side of his Lincoln Continental because he believes he’s responsible for having his probation violated. He wants his roommate to pay for the $6,300 it will cost to repair the paint damage. Police said there’s insufficient cause to charge his roommate with criminal mischief.

 

SEPT 13

COMPUTER S.O.S.

3:34 a.m. — 6900 block of Bayside Drive

Disturbance: Police responded to a disturbance in the bay and found a woman in a kayak near the shore searching for her computer and cellphone that her boyfriend threw off their boat. She told police he came home drunk and threw the items in the bay. Once she got to shore, she realized the computer actually landed in the kayak. She got in her car and left.

 

SEPT. 14

NOT A LOAN

2:11 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD

Disturbance: A man reported that someone wrote the words “loan repayment” in the memo of a $3,700 check he wrote out to his neighbor. He disputes the check was a loan repayment.

 

SEPT. 15

LOUD WALKERS

6:33 p.m. — 3800 block of GMD

Disturbance: A woman reported her upstairs neighbor was making a lot of noise. Police observed the noise of normal upstairs foot traffic and didn’t believe the noise violates the noise ordinance.

 

SEPT. 17

TRIMMING TROUBLE

9:47 a.m. — Intersection of Linley Street and Bayside Drive

Code Enforcement: A man told police he saw a man illegally cutting a Buttonwood tree and yelled at him to stop. A woman told police she hired the man to only cut dead branches off the tree.

 

SEPT. 18

FILM SET HOPES DASHED

9:49 a.m. — 7000 block of GMD

Suspicious Person: A real estate office employee reported a man entered the office inquiring about a house he could rent to film a pornography. He left after the woman stood up and felt uncomfortable with his presence in the office.

 

SEPT. 20

PLAN OF ATTACK

6:22 p.m. — 800 block of Longboat Club Road

Animal Bite: A plan to scare off three raccoons in his yard went awry when two of the raccoons charged the homeowner and bit him on the leg. The man’s wife took him to the hospital for treatment.

 

SEPT. 22

HIDING, NOT MISSING

Intersection of GMD and Bay Isles Road

Traffic: License plate cameras alerted police to a tag registered to a woman who was reported missing. The woman reported she broke up with her partner a month ago and her partner probably reported her as missing. The woman was fine and St. Petersburg Police was notified of the encounter so she could be taken out of the missing system.
