Casual Friday means relaxed clothing in the office for many places of employment.

For the month of April the staff at the Child Protection Center wants that to also be a time to show support for the Paint the Town Blue campaign to bring awareness to child abuse throughout the Sarasota community.

Executive Director Doug Staley led by example and dyed his hair and mustache a hue of blue for the day.

“I hope it’s temporary,” Staley said.

Other employees like therapist Bradley Dorrill found a way to incorporate the message of the campaign into his attire for the day. Dorrill put on an inflatable orb that he uses with children who come in seeking treatment and counselling.

“It’s blue but it’s also a therapeutic tool that we use to help kids learn boundaries,” Dorrill said.
