Low taxes boost growth

You’re likely to see numerous news reports on Florida TaxWatch’s most recent study comparing Florida’s tax burden to the

other states. And we’re going to guess that most of those reports will come with a negative slant on the fact that Florida, comparatively speaking, ranks on the side of low-tax states. 

Mainstream media will bemoan this. We’ll praise it.

People and capital flow where they are welcome. That is why Florida has remained among the fastest growing states over the past 50 years in population and job growth.

But don’t be totally deceived by Florida’s low-tax ranking. The TaxWatch study, which is available at FloridaTaxWatch.org, also reveals that the tax burdens of local city and county governments are among the highest in the nation.
