1 — Braden River junior second baseman Myah Moy went 3-for-5 with a double and a grand slam, four RBI and three runs scored to lead the Pirates to their first district title in three years with a 14-6 victory against Armwood in the Class 7A-District 9 championship April 14. 

2 — Lakewood Ranch senior Gabe Overmyer lifted a combined 715 pounds to finish sixth in the heavyweight division of the Class 2A weightlifting state championship April 16. 

3 — Braden River’s Jaylin Austin won the 300-meter hurdles and finished fourth in the 100-meter dash at the Class 3A-District 10 meet April 14, in Clearwater. 

4 — The Out-of-Door Academy’s Max Munroe pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts in six innings to lead the Thunder to a 3-0 victory over Cambridge Christian April 14. 

5 — Lakewood Ranch resident Catherine Murphy won the consolation bracket of her singles draw to help lead the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota women’s tennis team to its third-consecutive state championship April 8 through April 10.
