1. THURSDAY, April 28

The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team will begin its postseason run when it travels to Fort Myers Canterbury School in a regional semifinal at 7 p.m. The Thunder already posted its second-consecutive season with at least 20 wins, and is two wins from reaching the state semifinals for the first time. 

2. SATURDAY, April 30 and SUNDAY, May 1

Can the Sarasota Crew make it a clean sweep? After capturing a sculling state championship two weeks ago, the Crew look to add another state championship to their resume during the Florida Scholastic Rowing Association Sweep Championships. More than 1,800 athletes from 33 clubs, including the Crew and the Sarasota Scullers, will be in attendance when racing commences at 8 a.m. 

3. SATURDAY, April 30 

A date at the state meet will be on the line when Lakewood Ranch’s qualifiers compete at the Class 4A-Region 2 meet April 30, in Kissimmee. Twelve district champions, including three-event champion Sophia Falco, will lead a Mustang contingent with a legitimate shot at winning a regional championship. 

4. SATURDAY, April 30

Whether you’re new to the court or a seasoned veteran, the Take Stock in Children Tennis Festival is one event that has a little something for everyone, from tennis matches to other tennis-related activities. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lakewood Ranch Tennis Center.
