The Goldie Feldman Academy underwent a name change in time for the new academic year.

Going forward it will be known as Hershorin Schiff Community Day School or Community Day School.

The school which currently has 205 students enrolled in Preschool through eighth grade, was originally established by Temple Beth Sholom in 1974. The K-8th grade Goldie Feldman Academy was founded in 1992 as an expansion of the Justin Lee Wiesner Preschool.

For the 2015-16 school year both schools combined under the name Goldie Feldman Academy. After a donation from the Hershroin Schiff Community Schools Foundation, the was incorporated as an independent community day school making it the only independent Jewish day school in southwest Florida.
