The city of Sarasota will commission two original works of art for two permanent downtown public installations. One regional and one national call to artists seek works to be located at the State Street Garage and at a forthcoming roundabout at Palm and Cocoanut avenues, respectively.

The project for the State Street Garage will be wayfinding in nature and will be displayed in the garage's elevator and stairwell lobbies, and potentially the concrete interior walls. Artists submitting proposals for the project must live or have an office or studio within 150 miles of the city and work within a $100,000 budget. The deadline for this submission is Oct. 23.

The roundabout at Palm and Cocoanut avenues will feature an outdoor landmark sculpture that does not exceed 20 feet in height. The call to artists for the roundabout project is national in scope with a $150,000 budget and a deadline of Oct. 31.

Selected works are projected to be installed in 2017. Visit CallForEntry.org to submit.
