THURSDAY Aug. 25

The Lakewood Ranch High volleyball team opens its season when the Mustangs host Riverview in a non-district battle. The freshmen teams takes the court first at 5 p.m., followed by the junior varsity at 6 p.m. and the varsity at 7 p.m. 

FRIDAY, Aug. 26 

The regular football season kicks off at 7:30 p.m. when Class 7A-District 11 champion Braden River travels to Bayshore at 7:30 p.m. It’ll be the first of three non-district contests for the Pirates to open the season. 

FRIDAY, Aug. 26

The Lakewood Ranch High football team opens the regular season when the Mustangs travel to Tampa Jesuit to face a Tigers team that reached the Class 5A state semifinals last season. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. 

SATURDAY, Aug. 27 

Athletes of all ages will participate in the Special Olympics Florida Stand Up Paddle Championship at Nathan Benderson Park. The competition begins with an opening ceremony at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m.
