FRIDAY, Dec. 9 - SATURDAY, Dec. 10

Braden River wrestling will participate in the My House Kickoff Classic at Palm Harbor University High School, its first tournament of the season. Wrestlers from 23 schools will take part in the tournament. Pirates senior Chance Sharbono has a shot to take home a state title this season. The tournament starts at 1 p.m. Friday and runs until 6 p.m. Saturday.

SATURDAY, Dec. 10

The Lakewood Ranch boys basketball team takes on Central Florida Christian Academy at 4 p.m. as part of the Windermere Prep Hoopfest. Twelve top teams will take part in the tournament. The Mustangs can continue to build on their success from last season.

TUESDAY, Dec. 13

The Lakewood Ranch girls soccer team has a key divisional home game against Manatee at 7 p.m. The Hurricanes have a potent attack led by senior Kyra Himes and sophomore Sarah “Ayla” Johnston. Mustangs junior goaltender Holly Spillman will have her hands full.

WEDNESDAY, Dec. 14

The Out-of-Door Academy boys basketball team has a 7 p.m. home game against Manatee. The Hurricanes have started the year strong offensively, so the Thunder need big games from seniors Andrew Berg and Nathan Patrick.
