No, not really, but the children didn’t know the difference as they danced under snow machines and sledded down a manufactured sledding slope.
Seeing the look on their faces as they grasp for synthetic snowflakes is event organizer Kimberly Manooshian’s favorite part of the annual Southside Holiday Stroll, which benefits Southside Elementary.
Although there is no official headcount, Manooshian estimates 1,000 people attended the event. Southside Elementary dance clubs performed their routines while parents and other students were showered with snowflakes.
Manooshian said she is already making a submitting her wishes to Santa for next year’s event.
“Close down Hillview,” she said. “That would be my wish list.”
