Three burglaries were reported Monday on Longboat Key, according to the Longboat Key Police Department.

Longboat Key Police Detective Bob Bourque said two homes were actually broken into and one attempt failed. No one was home at the time of any of the crimes.

The following homes were burglarized or an attempt was made:

• 561 Ketch Lane. Suspects broke a glass sliding door and stole a handgun.

“A neighbor reported hearing glass breaking about 4 a.m. Monday,” Bourque said.

• 560 Schooner Lane, an attempted burglary a street away. “We don’t think they got in,” Bourque said. “It does not appear they went into the residence. We assume it happened (Monday).”

• 720 Penfield St. The front door was kicked in, glass broken and a Mac desktop computer stolen.

“We have photos of two suspects running down the street,” Bourque said.

The suspects were described as two males, ages 20 to 30, dressed nicely. One had longer hair in a bun.
