The Braden River wrestling team is participating in the first annual Army Southside Duals tournament at Boca Ciega High School. Twenty-four teams will compete. Matches begin at noon on Friday and end Saturday at 8 p.m.

FRIDAY, Dec. 16

The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder boys soccer team hosts the Universal Academy of Florida at 5 p.m. ODA attacker Filip Svoboda is a tremendous weapon, scoring four goals against Imagine School on Dec. 2. The Thunder will need his scoring touch to keep with Universal, which has scored eight or more goals in a game three times.

SATURDAY, Dec. 17

The Lakewood Ranch girls basketball team will be tested when it hosts Lehigh Senior at 6 p.m. The Lightning are led by junior guard Cassidy Delva and sophomore forward Aleisha Curry. The Mustangs will need seniors Aleah Robinson and Shauntavia Green to have big games.

MONDAY, Dec. 19

The Braden River boys basketball team takes on Bayshore at home. The high-scoring Pirates have been a fun team to watch. Senior Deoni Cason can score from anywhere, senior wing Jacob Garrett is a 3-point specialist and junior forward Daniel Tart is a force in the paint. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
