The congregation was faced with the tricky task of convincing its younger members to Sunday Mass 15 minutes earlier this week to accommodate the for the annual parish. The solution? Let them wear their pajamas.
Sleepy children rolled out of bed and into church Jan. 31. Some even kept on their robes and slippers as they shuffled into the service. Their treat for arriving fashionably early was a pancake breakfast following Mass and a showing of the movie "Peter Pan."
"Everyone loved it," parishioner Jacki Boes said, "especially the pajama parade as all the children and youth left at the end of the service to enjoy such a special breakfast."
