1 — Kristin Zarrella, a 2013 graduate of Lakewood Ranch High, set a new University of Southern Mississippi school record in the mile, finishing in 4 minutes, 49.98 seconds at the Vanderbilt Invitational Track and Field indoor meet Jan. 30.

2 — In the 138-pound weight class, Braden River junior Chance Sharbono went undefeated to win the 37-team George Jenkins IBT wrestling invitational Jan. 29 and Jan. 30.

3 — Junior forward LaDazhia Williams scored 20 points to lead the Lakewood Ranch girls basketball team to a 49-32 victory over Venice in the Class 7A-District 11 semifinals Jan. 27.

4 — Curtis Cobb had a career-high 21 points to push the Braden River boys basketball team past The Out-of-Door Academy 62-52 in the regular season finale for both teams.

5 — Lakewood Ranch sophomore forward Pablo Vargas scored the lone goal for the Mustangs in their 2-1 loss to Wiregrass Ranch in the Class 5A-Region 2 quarterfinals Jan. 29.
