Say 'cheese' for our 2016 'It's Read Everywhere' contest

We smile every time we see a photo of our readers holding a copy of their Observer newspaper on vacation.

Last year, we received 209 photos of smiling readers in destinations as far away as Mount Kilimanjaro, Tahiti, the Guinness Brewery in Ireland and the Jemaa el-Fnaa Market in Marrakesh, Morocco, where grand prize winner Wendy Pittman snapped a photo of herself with a monkey.

One thing we’ve learned: Everyone smiles in the same language.

That’s why this year’s “It’s Read Everywhere” contest will give readers even more reasons to smile.

Drs. Jill Morris’ and Burr Bakke’s and World Class Dentistry is the sponsor of the 2016 “It’s Read Everywhere Contest.” The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 toward any dental treatment or smile makeover.

Readers have until Sept. 30 to submit their vacation photos with their Longboat Observer, Sarasota Observer, Siesta Key Observer or East County Observer at YourObserver.com.

From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, readers will vote on their favorite photos. The winner will be announced in our annual “Welcome Back” issue Nov. 10.

We can’t wait to see where we’ll go in 2016, so keep smiling, and pack your Observer newspapers in your suitcases.
