Sarasota acreage gets new owner

A Michigan-based company has purchased more than 1,000 acres off Fruitville Road, east of Dog Kennel Road.

Lakepark Estates LLC purchased 1,040 acres for $12.5 million from Myakka Ranch Holdings.

The sale closed in December.

Myakka Ranch purchased the property for $10.8 million in February 2004.

Lakepark Estates’ address is the same as Windham Realty Group, which owns Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers. It purchased the project from developer Taylor Morrison in early 2009.
