Anderson/Chillura Home
6526 Bayou Hammock Road
When Tina Anderson and her husband, Ken, along with her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Patsy Chillura, were searching for a vacation home in 2014, the house on Bayou Hammock Road stood out because they believed it was perfect for two families.
“We have a boys’ wing and a girls’ wing,” Tina Anderson said. “We have four boys and two girls between families, and instead of splitting up by family, we have boys on one end, girls on the other end.”
The home features a 3,000-square-foot main house with two living areas and two upstairs master suites where the adults sleep. The boys' and girls’ wings are connected to the main house by enclosed breezeways.
Outside, the 1.65 acres of land allow the families to enjoy swimming, playing beach volleyball, cooking in an outdoor kitchen area or enjoying the 235 feet of land on Sarasota Bay.
The home was built in 1949.
“It is a historic property, and we kept the home exactly as it was,” Tina Anderson said. “We just updated it.”
