Murphy Home
601 Weston Pointe Court
While some homes are filled with vibrant, exuberant colors, Martha Murphy’s house, with its calm, earthy tones and burnt umber accents, has the opposite effect.
Entering the home, guests encounter a stone and pebble pathway along a courtyard complete with a swimming pool, expansive patio and casita.
The main door to the house features a square grid, a pattern that can be found throughout the home.
The first floor ceiling, cabinets and staircase are all wooden, and the main level features floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a view of the bayou outside.
To go along with the timeless feel of the home, Murphy has many collectibles, including old-fashioned car hood ornaments and an antique map.
“I like to collect things like that,” Murphy said. “The map is what people actually thought the world looked like hundreds of years ago.”
